Pay and Benefits

Base pay: $19.00/hr – $22.50/hr actual compensation may vary based on skills, experience and geographic location. Benefits information is available at  The role will remain open until filled.

• Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy and perform other Pharmacy Department duties in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• If PTCB certified, assist and coach pharmacy technicians and cashiers in the operation of pharmacy systems and cash registers.
• Provide a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Model and share customer service best practices with all team members, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.
• Develop strong relationships with high‑value customers.

• Assist in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state, federal, and company policy, and review compliance with the Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
• Perform duties assigned by the Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medication, checking for interactions, and scheduling workflow.
• Report prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist and adhere to Company policies and the Quality Improvement Program.
• Follow Walgreen Co. policy on Good Faith Dispensing for all applicable dispensing activities.
• Register sales on assigned cash registers, handle cash, and assist customers in locating products.
• Handle telephone calls that do not require pharmacist attention, including physician calls.
• Process, correct, and resubmit manual claims for third‑party prescription services efficiently.
• Assist with inventory management: ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments; manage warehouse overages, shortages, and order errors.
• Assist with clinical services, including collection and labeling of blood/urine samples and coordination of Walgreens healthcare clinics and external providers.
• Support the Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist in building relationships with the local community in outreach initiatives.
• Maintain the Pharmacy Department’s aesthetic and cleanliness, including supplies and interior/outside maintenance.
• Comply with all company policies, maintain respectful coworker relationships, and complete special assignments as directed.

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program or state‑required certification.
• Attend training and complete PPLs requested by the Manager; acquire continuous education credits and stay informed of healthcare and pharmacy developments.

• Fluent reading, writing, and speaking in English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

• At least six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Strong math skills for accurate prescription filling, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications.
• Good computer skills.
• Knowledge of store inventory control.
• PTCB certification.
