Overview

The Supervisor, Patient Accounts is responsible for assisting in managing the day‑to‑day activities of the Department related to revenue cycle functions, including billing, collections, accounts receivable, and patient customer service/collections.

Responsibilities
  • Recommend and implement training programs to enhance staff technical competencies.
  • Prepare monthly management reports providing key revenue and operational metrics and analysis.
  • Efficiently & proactively manage staff, creating schedules to meet production and quality goals.
  • Implement and supervise policies and procedures ensuring accuracy of data on all documents and bills to third‑party billing companies, Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance denials.
  • Multi‑task in a fast, high‑pressure environment and field/answer patient and vendor concerns and questions.
  • Strictly adhere to all HIPAA laws.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and conduct daily quality monitoring of key performance metrics and account accuracy.
  • Monitor trends and system issues.
  • Attend meetings related to job functions and responsibilities.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of AR/Acute billing experience in a leadership role.
  • High School/GED required;
    Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field preferred.
  • Proficient with Kronos, Patient Management System(s), payer websites, medical terminology, Medicare medical necessity and commercial authorizations.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience with document imaging systems and vendor management.
Special Requirements
  • Knowledge of Facility Billing, Insurance Verifications, Third‑Party Insurance Coverage, Medicaid and Medicare eligibility, and insurance denial review and overturn procedures.
