The Department of Biomedical Engineering in the Grove School of Engineering at the City College of New York (CCNY) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position. The successful candidate will develop a vibrant externally funded research program as well as excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. It is expected that the appointment will be made at the level of Assistant Professor, although exceptional candidates at more senior levels will be considered.
The research environment in the CCNY Biomedical Engineering Department is outstanding, with departmental concentrations in biomaterials/biotechnology, cardiovascular engineering, musculoskeletal engineering, and neural engineering. Applications are encouraged from candidates whose background and experience fits with and will benefit from research synergies within the Department, with the biomaterials/nanotechnology/regenerative medicine and cardiovascular engineering areas of greatest interest.
CCNY also anchors the New York Center for Biomedical Engineering, a long-standing and unique consortium of the Grove School of Engineering and major health care institutions and research medical centers in New York City, which provides extensive collaborative research and training opportunities. Candidates must hold a PhD (or equivalent) in Biomedical Engineering or a closely related field. Also required are demonstrated achievements in the targeted research areas and the ability to teach effectively.
Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
