What You Will Be Doing

As a Service & Delivery Technician I, you will support stores throughout Northern California, particularly the Bay Area, helping with IT deployments, remodel projects, and hardware installations. You may be required to travel to stores, sometimes overnight.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support standard hardware platforms and systems installed throughout Safeway retail stores and district offices.
  • Installation of new hardware and software components such as desktops, iPads, servers, UPS battery backups, self-checkouts, printers, scanner scales, counter scales, and network equipment.
  • Maintain equipment inventory controls and policies.
  • Travel to store locations for installations, including overnight stays when required.
  • Schedule installations according to deployment needs, including overnight assignments.
What We Are Searching For
  • High school graduate; AA/AS/BA/BS preferred or 1+ year technical/training/hardware certifications.
  • 1+ years retail business experience preferred.
  • 1+ years experience with retail store systems, technology systems, and hardware.
  • 1+ years installation and configuration of desktop and peripheral technology.
  • Excellent telephone, customer service, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of presenting technical information clearly.
  • Working knowledge of IT hardware, installation models, Windows, MS Office, and related applications.
  • Knowledge of iOS and Android.
  • Self‑checkout experience preferred.
  • Ability to follow written or verbal instructions, define problems, collect data and draw conclusions.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate in a matrixed organization.
  • Strong aptitude for learning beyond formal training to deliver quality products under minimal supervision.
  • Understanding of how hardware/software systems inter‑relate.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and handle equipment installation tasks.
  • Good safe driving record and valid vehicle required.
  • Solid mechanical skills.
  • Flexibility to work day, evening, and overnight shifts; primarily M‑F but may work Sunday evenings.
  • Strong sense of urgency, business ethics, dependability and follow through.
Pay Range

$19.68 to $25.58 per hour, starting rates vary by location, experience, and qualifications. Flexibility for exceptional candidates.
