Job Description:
The Entry Level Industrial Supply Management Planner supports factory operations by managing day-to-day supply planning activities for assigned commodities and suppliers. Working within established systems and frameworks, the role focuses on supplier coordination, inventory management, data analysis, and continuous improvement, with guidance from more senior supply management professionals. Responsibilities:
Execute supply planning activities for low-complexity supply chains within defined planning systems and processes. Maintain regular contact with assigned suppliers to support quality, delivery, and performance expectations. Monitor supplier performance metrics, investigate issues, and provide timely feedback to internal teams and suppliers. Collect and analyze data related to supplier costs, market trends, risks, innovation opportunities, and alternative supply options. Support continuous improvement initiatives by contributing ideas and assisting in reviewing existing supply operations.
Gather and report information on contract performance to support contract renewals and negotiation activities. Manage site or factory inventory using established procedures, escalating discrepancies and issues when identified. Support stakeholder engagement by coordinating meetings, actions, and supply-related communications. Build professional capability through training, coaching, and ongoing learning related to supply management, regulations, and industry best practices.
Experience:
Basic understanding of supply chain, procurement, or manufacturing operations. Strong planning, organizing, and action-follow-through skills. Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to support decisions. Clear verbal communication and the ability to work with internal and external stakeholders. Willingness to work within structured systems and follow established processes.
Skills:
Internship, co-op, or academic project experience in supply chain, procurement, manufacturing, or operations. Exposure to supplier management or procurement processes. Familiarity with inventory management, logistics, or traffic/transport planning concepts. Experience using ERP or supply planning systems (academic or professional).
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, Operations, Logistics, or a related field.
