A&K Railroad Materials is a premier supplier of both new and used railroad track materials, headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah. Our extensive network includes distribution, manufacturing, and sales sites across the United States. We also operate affiliated railroad services in Mississippi and Kansas, along with car storage facilities in multiple states.
Job Summary
As the Great Lakes Regional Sales Manager, based in Valparaiso, Indiana, you will lead sales initiatives for railroad track materials in the Great Lakes region. You will work closely with product managers, report to the Executive Vice President of Sales, oversee daily sales operations, manage customer accounts, and develop strategies to position A&K as a key supplier for high-speed rail projects in the region.
Responsibilities
- Lead the sales team to achieve targets and customer satisfaction.
- Use ERP and analytics tools to identify opportunities and tailor solutions for railway projects.
- Provide weekly updates on sales activities, market trends, and competitors.
- Maintain effective communication within the team and with other departments.
- Manage daily operations of the Salt Lake City sales team, offering guidance and support.
- Position A&K as the preferred supplier for major high-speed rail projects in the Western U.S.
- Collaborate on developing and implementing sales strategies.
- Represent A&K at industry events, conferences, and trade shows.
- Lead and motivate the western sales team, fostering a culture of excellence.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field.
- Successful sales track record, preferably in railroad or construction industries.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft D365.
- Experience using data analytics for market growth.
