Adjunct Faculty - Paramedic Science

Salary Range: $47.35 Per Contact Hour

Major Responsibilities- Facilitate student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
- Make optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
- Supplement and alter, where appropriate, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials; maintain accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.
- Engage with students proactively and regularly in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and lead to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College.
- Demonstrate evidence of developing and implementing teaching strategies focused on engaging online students with their learning.
- Interact with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complying with College policies, guidelines and expectations.
- Maintain a safe, quality online educational environment.
- Promote an environment that reflects the broad backgrounds represented by our students and employees in which every individual feels respected and valued.
Must have strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to area of instruction, faculty credentials as outlined in the ASOM 7.1 as applicable to the specific area of instruction.
Paramedic Science Program Standard- Possesses an earned baccalaureate or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution.
- Completed academic preparation appropriate to the program.
- Holds an Indiana paramedic certification.
- Holds an Indiana Department of Homeland Security Primary Instructor certification.
- Has two years of directly related work experience.
- Meets the Paramedic Science program standard.
- Holds both of the following certifications:
- Current Indiana Department of Homeland Security Primary Instructor certification.
- Current EMT or higher certification.
- Completed academic preparation appropriate to the course(s) being taught.
- Holds an Indiana paramedic certification.
- Has two years of directly related work experience.
- Meets the Paramedic Science program standard or holds an Indiana paramedic certification.
