Nursing Faculty - Valparaiso Campus - Ivy Tech Community College

Join to apply for the Nursing Faculty role at Ivy Tech Community College.

Provide quality and engaging instruction in all delivery methods and formats, give timely student feedback, engage students outside of class, support the college mission, and conform to faculty performance expectations.

Major Responsibilities
  • Instruction:
    • Deliver assigned classes using pedagogy and technology that best support student learning.
    • Develop and maintain curriculum and supporting course materials.
    • Maintain student records, attendance, grades, and documentation as required.
    • Manage classroom environment conducive to learning and adhere to safety standards.
    • Facilitate student achievement of program learning outcomes.
    • Use Learning Management System (Ivy Learn) for teaching, learning, assessment, and communication.
    • Ensure knowledge of and implement emergency and safety procedures.
  • Retention and Student Success:
    • Provide academic coaching and monitoring to student advisees.
    • Monitor and document student performance and provide necessary interventions.
    • Maintain posted office hours and student engagement hours.
    • Promote student recruitment, retention, and completion.
  • Professional Development:
    • Participate in professional development activities and self‑study.
    • Engage in scholarly activities and fulfill certification requirements.
    • Stay current in contemporary pedagogy and digital technology.
  • Community Relations and Business Outreach:
    • Participate in community service activities.
    • Develop community/industry/business contacts.
  • Institutional Support:
    • Provide support such as committee participation, accreditation projects, grant projects.
    • Engage with Workforce Alignment and Development.
    • Attend commencement and other campus events.
    • Participate in meetings and career service activities.
    • Support program/department chair in management activities.

Salary Range

$50,000–55,000 per 9‑month academic year + optional Summer contract (varies).

Qualifications
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current, unencumbered Indiana Registered Nurse license.
  • Master’s degree in nursing (required for most faculty). Bachelor’s degree holders must be pursuing a Master’s and meet additional requirements.
  • Within one semester of initial appointment, have a written academic plan of study for completion of a Master’s degree in nursing.
  • Regular documentation of progress toward Master’s degree.
