Principal Duties and Responsibilities- Employs project integration processes to initiate, plan, execute, monitor and control, and effectively transfer the project to the customer while ensuring project objectives are met.
- Integrates product life cycle components with non-product objectives (safety, cost, schedule, human resources). Expands competence in integration management to align project resources for optimal productivity. Implements product-to-project scope configuration management. Leads the project management team and stakeholders with growing interpersonal skills.
- Employs quality management processes to initiate, plan, execute, monitor and control and ensures customer satisfaction.
- Employs risk management processes to initiate, plan, execute, monitor and control and deliver project objectives.
- Employs procurement management proficiencies to transfer product and project risk and to establish and deliver value to buyers and sellers through fair arrangements.
- Employs cost management proficiencies to estimate, budget, and control costs within project objectives.
- Employs schedule management proficiencies to plan, schedule, and deliver the project within designated time objectives.
- Uses the NIPSCO risk management utility in project development and management of projects, human resources, and stakeholders.
- Applies and integrates proficiency in NIPSCO human resource processes and skills to optimize coordination of the project management team and ensure alignment with HR policies; uses tools to motivate and drive contractor performance.
- Engages project stakeholders effectively; develops strategies for interacting with negative stakeholders and aligns their requirements with project objectives.
- Applies proficiency in communication management to manage and control stakeholder expectations.
- Applies proficiency in project governance and uses effective communication and objective management to ensure safety and environmental objectives are realized.
- The Project Manager will manage the project in accordance with industry best practices, NIPSCO Organizational Process Assets, and Project Management Guidelines and Standards.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Technical field plus 6 years technical experience or 9 years project/architectural-engineering/technical experience or Project Manager plus 2 years’ PM experience.
- Expansion of project management knowledge base in methodology, processes, tools, techniques, and software; growth toward Level 3 maturity.
- Expanded comprehension of project management guidelines, standards, processes, and job aids.
- Expanded proficiency in PMIS utilization and integration; scheduling, risk, cost management software, and dashboards; tool integration of project controls information.
- Progressive leadership and interpersonal skills in situational leadership; manages stakeholders using cognitive ability, personal effectiveness, innovation, value-based decision making; conflict resolution and teamwork.
- Ability to perform duties under stringent deadlines and conditions.
- Flexibility to work a variable schedule.
- Ability to work in areas with high noise, dust, extreme temperatures, confined spaces, and chemical hazards.
- Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
- Position may require up to 50% travel.
- All successful applicants will be required to pass the PMP certification within one year of hire date or after meeting requirements to qualify for the examination.
- PMP PMI Project Management Certification; experience in large industrial capital project environments.
