Electric Transmission and Distribution Outage Coordinator - Valparaiso, IN

Orbital Engineering, Inc. is currently seeking an Electric Transmission and Distribution Outage Coordinator to support Electric Transmission and Distribution Line projects in the Valparaiso, IN area.

• Electrical Scope Design:
  Review detailed electrical designs and specifications, ensure compliance with codes and safety regulations, collaborate with project managers and engineering disciplines to integrate electrical systems.
• Constructability Review:
  Conduct thorough constructability reviews of electrical, mechanical & civil designs, collaborate with construction teams, recommend design modifications to enhance constructability.
• Labor Estimating:
  Prepare accurate labor estimates, analyze historical data, collaborate with project managers and procurement teams, develop level 2 schedules with WBS.
• Documentation and Reporting:
  Document findings, prepare comprehensive reports, maintain records of print reviews, develop project risk registers.
• Stakeholder Communication:
  Facilitate communication between design, construction and project management teams, participate in project meetings, present findings.
• Project Coordination:
  Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers, assist in preparation of project schedules, budgets, and progress reports, provide technical support.
• Quality Assurance:
  Ensure all electrical work meets quality standards, conduct site inspections, provide technical expertise to all levels of management, mentor less experienced team members.

• Resides within a reasonable commuting distance of Valparaiso, IN.
• Skilled in engineering and technical theories, basic research practices, evaluating alternatives, recommending solutions.
• Skilled in dealing with individuals from diverse backgrounds, strong written and oral communication skills.
• Skilled in project management principles, experience in the electric utility industry.
• Advanced understanding of system reliability and capacity strategies, ability to plan and organize complex projects on schedule.
• Ability to address challenging requests with originality, handle concurrent complex projects, work independently or as a member of a team.
• Pass post‑offer drug and alcohol test in compliance with federal regulations and random testing as a condition of continued employment.

• 25+ years of electric utility experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from a four‑year ABET‑accredited college or university.
