Industrial Machine Operator/Maintainer 1 at Ardagh Metal Packaging

The Maintainer is responsible for set-up, tending, adjusting, maintaining, repairing, and overhauling equipment within one of five production modules. Primary responsibility for production and quality on assigned equipment. Willing to work overtime and night shifts.

• Check schedule and determine need for conversion or scheduled maintenance.
• Analyze mechanical or operational troubles and take corrective action to maintain production and quality.
• Set up assigned equipment for material, size, or product change and operate to try conversion.
• Perform repair or overhaul as required; replace worn or damaged parts; retime machine action.
• Operate, repair, clean, lubricate equipment; clear jams; maintain packaging equipment as necessary.
• Examine, test, and measure product for quality specifications; record data.
• Read schematics, prints, exploded views; interpret manuals and guides.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspection; write and perform maintenance work orders.
• Analyze spoilage causes and take corrective action.
• Advise service vendors on standard operation procedures and requirements.
• Notify supervisor of recurring equipment malfunctions, corrective action, and poor-quality material or supplies.

• Minimum 5+ years mechanical or fast-paced manufacturing experience.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Demonstrated mathematical and mechanical aptitude.
• Familiar with Personal Protective Equipment.
• Familiar with proper handling of chemicals and solvents.
• Mechanically inclined; familiar with hand tools.

• Able to stand for a long duration (exceed 8 hours a day).
• Able to bend over and rotate body repeatedly.
• Able to lift up to 35 pounds.
• Exposure to heat, cold, vibrations, odors/fumes, and loud noise.
• Able to perform fine manipulations with hands.
