Locate Technicians are responsible for accurately locating underground facilities including telephone, electric power, cable television, gas, fiber optic, water, and sewer lines. This position ensures compliance with client and state requirements through observing, locating, marking, and documenting underground and exposed utility locations using multiple methods.

Technicians may work independently or in teams under the supervision of an assigned supervisor. The role requires focus, skill, and the use of machinery and/or tools. All employees can advance within the company based on performance and satisfactory results.

• Obtain a background check with no violations within the last 5 years.
• Complete a DOT drug test.
• Work with company-provided vehicle, laptop, smartphone, and protective equipment.
• Locate underground facilities using transmitters and other equipment.
• Work over diverse terrain and weather conditions.
• Interpret job order tickets, blueprints, and maps.
• Perform locates and emergency/on‑call locates during regular, overtime, and holiday hours as needed.
• Maintain a professional, efficient, and communication‑focused work environment.
• Collaborate with management, contractors, and utility customers to prevent damage.

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
• State‑issued driver’s license.
• Problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to read, interpret, and decipher print materials.
• Vacuum truck experience (A+).
• Physical ability to lift over 50 lbs and stand/​walk for many hours.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Pass a background screening (no violations within the last 5 years).
• Pass a DOT drug test.
