These units support patients preparing for or recovering from medical and surgical interventions, giving you the opportunity to build a strong foundation in diverse clinical skills. While you’ll have a home unit, we believe in cross‑training to broaden your expertise and confidence in caring for patients with varying conditions, comorbidities, and procedures.

• Deliver patient‑centered care using the nursing process.
• Maintain professional accountability for assigned patients.
• Evaluate care provided by other direct caregivers.

• Patient Population: Higher acuity cardiac and respiratory
• Nurse‑to‑Patient Ratio: 4:1 or 5:1
• UAP‑to‑Patient Ratio: 9:1
• Unit Size: 32 beds
• Environment: Fast‑paced, high‑energy; ideal for nurses pursuing ICU or ER careers
