We are currently seeking a Senior HR Manager for our Van Wert, OH manufacturing facility. This is an impactful role within the organization, requiring a seasoned, strategic-minded leader capable of driving both tactical and critical initiatives. The Senior HR Manager will translate business, regional, and site strategy into HR strategy, plans, and solutions, while effectively partnering with leadership to hire, engage, and develop talent that ensures the long-term success of the organization.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Advisory Role: Advise supervisors and managers on the application of company policies to ensure consistency and accurate policy interpretation interdepartmentally.
  • Investigations & Compliance: Lead HR investigations with support from the division HR team and partner with Compliance on investigations they lead.
  • Data-Driven Decisions: Utilize data and insights to identify opportunities and make proactive recommendations to improve HR practices.
  • Cultural Transformation: Support and drive cultural change initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and values.
  • Employee Engagement: Guide leadership in practices that elevate employee engagement, fostering a motivated and productive workforce.
  • Leadership Development & Coaching: Coach leaders on best practices for people management responsibilities, including talent assessments and performance management processes.
  • Staffing & Retention: Partner in recruitment efforts and develop staffing and retention strategies to ensure the facility is equipped with the right talent.
  • Shift HR Approach: Transition HR from a reactive position to a proactive, leading function, providing strategic guidance to support business goals.
  • Employee Well-Being: Foster a culture of well-being, encouraging leadership accountability to support employee satisfaction and engagement.
  • Onboarding & Role Clarity: Facilitate the onboarding process, helping employees understand their roles and providing support to managers in executing leadership tasks.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of HR experience as an HR Manager in a manufacturing environment is essential.
  • A minimum of 3 years leading and coaching HR professionals.
  • PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
  • Prior experience working with affirmative action plans for a federal government contractor is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, translate, and execute strategic initiatives and lead transformation processes.
  • Proven expertise in employment laws, affirmative action plans, worker’s compensation, and safety.
  • Experience working in a global matrixed organization and managing a HR Service Center.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with key stakeholders.
  • Experience in union avoidance activities is a plus.
  • Ability to challenge the leadership team, demonstrate subject matter expertise, and have the confidence to say "no" when required to maintain integrity in HR practices.
  • Willingness to travel about 10% to support an additional site within Ohio.

  • A track record of successfully developing and mentoring HR professionals is a must.
  • The role requires someone who can partner with leadership to drive both cultural transformation and organizational success, with a focus on elevating HR practices from reactive to strategic leadership.
