Staff RN, MedSurg; Van Wert

Overview

Part time casual RN in the Med/Surg unit at Van Wert Hospital. Provides general nursing care to patients and families throughout the continuum of care in diverse, acute health care settings. The RN is accountable for the practice of nursing as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing and delegates nursing tasks to LPNs and UAPs using the criteria written in the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.

Requires assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care provided to assigned patients according to department policies and nursing care standards.

• Assessment/Diagnosis – Performs initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessment as applicable to the population and/or individual.
• Outcomes Identification/Planning – Documents planned nursing interventions to achieve outcomes appropriate to patient needs based on nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems.
• Implementation/Evaluation – Evaluates and documents response to nursing interventions and achievement of outcomes; revises plan of care as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Leadership – Actively participates in process improvement activities to achieve targeted measures of clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
• Operations – Performs operational duties as required to support nursing care.

• Associate s Degree in Nursing (RN)
• BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
• RN license in Ohio or in good standing with a multi-state compact state
• BSN required at 5 years of employment
