• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently; understand the Point of Sale system and handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit, SNAP EBT, Offline SNAP EBT, WIC, loyalty offers, coupons, and checkout procedures according to company policy.
• Rotate all merchandise according to code dating policies and check product quality to ensure freshness; review sell-by dates and take appropriate action.
• Promote trust and respect among team members.
• Create a welcoming environment by answering questions regarding products sold.
• Maintain knowledge of products sold and respond to customer questions and suggestions.
• Greet, engage, and assist customers.
• Inform customers of grocery specials.
• Order, label, stock, and inventory merchandise.
• Report discrepancies in product ordering, shipping, and pricing to management.
• Adhere to company limits on cash shortages/overages and work to control loss.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, Fireworks).
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Follow all food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers, and keep logs.
• Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
• Inspect equipment and report repairs needed.
• Report customer or employee accidents.
• Comply with all laws and company policies.
• Physical demands include standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs., pushing/pulling carts, bending, and other physical activities.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment.
• Manage conflicts professionally.
• Act with honesty and integrity.
• Follow directions and seek help when needed.
• Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

• Basic math knowledge.
• Ability to complete cashier training.
• Ability to memorize produce and sale items.
• Effective communication and reading skills.
• Must be 18 years old.

• Customer service experience.
