Position OverviewWe are seeking a Full-Time Accountant with2 to 4 years of local public accounting firm experience to join our team on a long-term basis.
The successful candidate will workon-siteat our Vancouver office and contribute consistently to the firm’s client service and internal operations.
Start date is flexible:- Immediately, or
- Early May, following the completion of tax season
- Prepare personal and corporate tax returns, primarily T1s and T2s, with occasional T3s and T5013 partnership returns
- Compile financial statements
- Prepare and file GST and PST returns
- Payroll experience is an asset
- Communicate directly with the CRA on client matters
- Communicate directly with clients in a professional manner, including email correspondence, telephone communication and in-person meetings (if required)
- Perform general accounting and bookkeeping tasks
- Assist colleagues and support a collaborative office environment
- Handle light office administrative duties as required
- Manage multiple files and deadlines, particularly during tax season
- 2 to 4 years
of experience in a
local public accounting firm - Experience with accounting and tax software such as:
Caseware, Profile
, Microsoft Office, Jazzit, Sage 50/Quick Books, etc. - Experience working in a
professional firm environment
with direct client interaction - Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience preparing compilation and review (not mandatory) engagements and tax returns
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
- Able to work under pressure during peak periods
- Bilingual:
English and Chinese (
Mandarin and/or Cantonese required
) - Currently enrolled in, or completed, the CPA program
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Willing and able to work on-site during regular business hours
- Demonstrated interest in long-term professional development and stability in public practice
- Standard 7.5-hour workday
- Compensation is based on experience
- Compensation may be slightly below large-firm market levels, balanced by: short and more predictable working hours;
significantly reduced overtime during tax season
