Production Manager

Responsible for supporting our teams quality control through detailed review of monthly bookkeeping of Canadian clients and assistance in training and developing the bookkeepers and junior accountants. This is a role where the main duties and responsibilities are technical review of financial reporting and income tax (corporate, personal, trust, etc.). This role supports the Senior Client Manager in its duties with the firm.

Duties and Responsibilities

Your major role will be to support our quality control and file review.

Your role is mainly an internal role with a focus on bookkeeping review, tax review, corporate year end review for the bookkeepers/senior accountants.

The position requires you to report to Senior Management.

Your team will include bookkeepers and senior accountants.

You will review the work handed to you by bookkeepers and senior accountants.

You will train and develop the technical skills of your bookkeepers and senior accountants by helping and teaching them with all aspects of bookkeeping, year-end file and financial statement preparation, through guidance of your review and additional teaching points.

Your role is to review your teams work and ensure it for quality and have tasks and jobs done to a 90% - 100% completion stage for the Senior Management.

You will be task driven but also have an ability to work with other accountants and bookkeepers, helping and guiding then technically.

Experience and Skills

The CPA or CA qualification is desirable.

The successful applicant needs a very high level of technical knowledge and an ability to apply it to bookkeeping review finalize jobs.

High attention to detail is a must.

Review of monthly financial information for the following types of Canadian entities:

Sole Proprietors

Partnerships

Trusts

Companies

Use of the following software:

Xero Accounting (90% of clients are on Xero)

CCH iFirm

Microsoft products

Quick Books

Karbon

Detailed technical knowledge requirements:

Familiar with the Canadian Standard on Related Services (CSRS) 4200, Compilation Engagements

GST / HST, and PST filings

Understanding of Canadian personal and corporate tax

Availability and Compensation

Work will be remote

Immediate start

Hours of work will be between 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM PST
