Senior SAP Finance; FI Accountant

Our Vancouver based client is seeking an Senior SAP Finance (FI) Accountant to join their project immediately on a 18 month employment contract, with possibility of an extension. The ideal candidate should have 5+ years of progressive high-level accounting experience in financial reporting, general ledger, cost accounting, internal controls, audit, or tax. This will be a hybrid role with the exact amount of on-site scheduled days to be confirmed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ability to independently interpret financial data and accurately apply accounting logic in a system and data migration environment.
• Provide accounting input into Business Process Documents (BPDs), functional specifications, and testing scenarios.
• Review Chart of Accounts, Cost Centers, Profit Centers, and related master data and transactional data for financial integrity.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting data throughout the migration lifecycle.
• Identify legacy data sources, including key tables and fields, for data objects in scope.
• Assist with data extraction coordination, helping identify what data is needed from legacy systems.
• Execute pre-load and post-load validations during mock and real data loads and help log defects.
• Participate in data mapping sessions, offering business logic to guide how legacy data translates to SAP.
• Public accounting experience preferred; CPA designation is a plus.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.

• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
