Position Summary

We are seeking a positive, motivated individual with strong payroll knowledge, quick learning ability, excellent organizational, analytic, and technical skills to join our group of professionals based in Vancouver.
Responsibilities- Works closely and collaboratively with other members of the Payroll, Benefits and HR teams.
- Process most, if not all, time‑tracking entries on each pay‑period basis.
- Enter/Upload EIBs and maintain employee data and transactions in the payroll system (including tax elections, direct‑deposit changes, cost‑allocation changes, taxable benefits such as tuition, parking, gym, other benefits, termination payments, vacation payments and ad‑hoc salary/wages/bonus payments, hourly & overtime, and other payments).
- Assist in processing staff events (new hire, rehire, departures, leaves and other organizational changes).
- Process full‑cycle semi‑monthly payroll.
- Respond to most email inquiries from stakeholders regarding payroll‑related issues about their pay.
- Assist in preparing and delivering various reports or spreadsheets as required.
- Assist with ROE preparations, pay statements and garnishments.
- Assist Senior Payroll Accountant or Senior Payroll Accounting Analyst with journal entries, cheques, deposits and basic account reconciliation and cost‑reporting inquiries.
- Assist the whole Payroll team during December–February to meet deadlines for tax‑form distribution and deliveries (T4/RL‑1/T2200).
- Assist with documentation of new processes and system testing as needed.
- Adhere to company policies and best practices in payroll and comply with all required payroll legislation and regulations.
- Perform ad‑hoc tasks as assigned/needed, likely requested by the CGC Controller & Sr. Manager, Payroll.
- PCP designation and/or similar Accounting certification/diploma.
- 2–5 years of experience in payroll/accounting.
- Intermediate to proficient use of MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, positive demeanor, forward thinking.
- Proven ability to collaborate in a team environment and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent prioritization and great attention to detail.
- Eager to learn, quick learner, adaptable to changes in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
- Problem‑solver with strong prioritization and time‑management skills, highly organized.
- Self‑motivated and results‑driven, proactive mentality and initiative approach to work.
- Responsible, reliable, and considerate towards colleagues, especially during peak times.
- Flexible to work overtime required hours during peak times when necessary.
