As an Accounting Technician , you will play a key role in supporting our Senior Accountants, Managers, and Partners across a diverse portfolio of clients. You will apply your technical accounting skills to deliver full‑cycle bookkeeping and accounting support while maintaining strong client relationships.
What You’ll Do
Manage a portfolio of clients, performing full‑cycle accounting to the general ledger stage.
Prepare bank reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable sub‑ledgers, and investment reconciliations.
Complete payroll processing, including benefits, source deductions, ROEs, and interprovincial Work Safe filings.
Prepare GST/HST, QST, PST, and other statutory tax filings.
Maintain accurate financial records, ensuring timeliness and compliance with client and statutory deadlines.
Collaborate with team members to enhance processes and support workflow efficiencies.
Provide training and guidance to junior staff.
Communicate effectively with clients through both written and verbal communication.
What You Bring
Educational Background
Post‑secondary coursework in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is an asset.
Experience
1–2 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role.
Experience with in a public practice firm is an asset but not required.
Skills
Proficiency in Sage 50, Quick Books, Sage Cloud, and Quick Books Online.
Experience with Great Plains Dynamics is an asset.
Strong understanding of full‑cycle accounting and payroll.
Ability to manage multiple client files with strong attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
