Accounting Assistant

The Accounting Assistant is responsible for performing a variety of administrative duties in support of the Trust Accountant. The Accounting Assistant will work with our Accounting team, lawyers, and legal support professionals to ensure timely processing of trust transactions.
Primary Responsibilities
File and scan trust documentation in a timely manner.
Obtain the appropriate signatures for trust transactions (cheques, EFTs, and/or wire transfers).
Follow-up and obtain missing documentation from internal and external partners.
Perform ad-hoc duties as required including bank runs, posting and processing transactions.
Qualifications
High school graduation.
2+ years’ office or accounting related experience. Professional services background considered an asset.
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word applications.
Good working knowledge of ELITE highly desirable.
Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
A strong service orientation and a positive, willing attitude.
Effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate (both oral and written) in a professional, mature and courteous manner.
The ability to work well independently and in a team setting.
