Onsite Cost Accountant

Overview
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join their team. The primary responsibility of this role is to analyze costs, prepare budget reports, and ensure cost-effective operations within the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong mathematical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments.

What you will be doing

Analyze and reconcile cost discrepancies to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Prepare and maintain cost reports and budget forecasts.

Evaluate cost-saving opportunities and recommend strategies to reduce expenses.

Assist in month-end and year-end close processes related to costs and inventory.

Collaborate with procurement and production teams to review and analyze cost variances.

Develop and monitor internal control procedures related to cost accounting.

Prepare ad-hoc financial analyses and reports as required by management.

What you must have

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required and must have a CMA or CPA or close to completing their CPA designation

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Proven experience as a Cost Accountant in a similar role recently

Strong analytical skills with attention to detail

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel

Knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Salary/Rate Range : $75,000 – $85,000
