CPA Accounting Manager – Public Practice

Salary Range: $100,000 – $140,000 annually (based on experience)

Position OverviewWe are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented CPA Accounting Manager to join our public practice team. The successful candidate will oversee engagement files, manage staff, and serve as a key point of contact for clients, while contributing to the firm’s growth and operational success.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and review complex accounting engagements (compilations and review engagements)
- Liaise with the Canada Revenue Agency and other regulatory bodies on client matters
- Review and finalize year-end files, working papers, and financial statements
- Assign files to team members and monitor workflow, timelines, and budgets
- Mentor, coach, and develop staff; conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback
- Respond to client inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner
- Ensure deadlines are met during peak and non-peak periods
Support Partners with client deliverables and firm initiatives - Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency
- Minimum1year of experience as an accounting manager in public practice in addition to 3 years experience as aSenior Staff Accountant in public practice required.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards and tax compliance
- Experience managing and reviewing compilation and review engagements
- Proven leadership and team management experience
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and client service skills
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and meet tight deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
