Responsibilities
- As Senior Revenue Accountant, you will play a key role in executing and supporting the end-to-end revenue recognition process in compliance with IFRS 15.
- You will ensure accurate revenue reporting, support the accounts receivable function, and collaborate cross-functionally to drive financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Revenue Recognition & Compliance:
Execute and support the revenue recognition process in accordance with IFRS 15 and internal policy, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded and compliant with accounting standards. - Reporting & Analysis:
Analyze and reconcile key revenue accounts on a monthly basis; prepare reports and variance analysis to support management and senior stakeholders. - Month-End Close:
Prepare and process month-end close activities including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations for billing and revenue accounts, meeting established deadlines. - Team Leadership:
Act as a resource and subject matter expert for junior team members, sharing technical knowledge and providing guidance on revenue accounting and AR processes. - Audit & Controls:
Assist with external year-end audits by preparing audit schedules and supporting documentation, and help maintain internal controls over revenue transactions. - Process Improvements:
Identify opportunities for process improvement within the revenue and AR functions, and contribute to the implementation of enhancements that improve accuracy and efficiency. - Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with teams outside of finance, including project delivery and operations, to gather information needed for accurate revenue accounting and resolve revenue-related queries. - Represent the finance team on company-wide projects including system implementations, new initiatives, and ad hoc assignments.
- Contribute across the broader accounting function as needed, including AP, GL, and FP&A.
CPA designation (or actively pursuing) with 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a revenue accounting or related role. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills with exceptional attention to detail. Deep knowledge and understanding of IFRS 15 - Revenue from Contracts with Customers. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage competing priorities effectively.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and contribute effectively within a collaborative team environment. Experience in Certinia is an asset. Proficient in Excel. Strong expertise in accounting and financial principles and governance (GAAP, IFRS).
