The Role

Our client is seeking a Billing Specialist to join their Finance team in Vancouver. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity offering a hybrid work model and a competitive compensation package.

This role is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of monthly client billing within a professional services environment. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, a solid understanding of billing processes, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the full billing cycle, including reviewing work‑in‑progress (WIP), applying write‑offs and write‑downs, and finalizing invoices
  • Generate and process invoices, including electronic billing (e‑billing)
  • Ensure invoices are delivered in accordance with client‑specific requirements
  • Maintain a strong understanding of internal time entry and billing protocols
  • Identify and elevate potential billing discrepancies or issues proactively
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with both internal stakeholders and external clients
  • Support ad hoc projects and initiatives within the accounting team
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3+ years of billing experience, ideally within a legal or professional services environment
  • Post‑secondary education in accounting or a related field
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
  • Experience with billing and accounting software (experience with Acumin is an asset)
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify issues and provide solutions
  • Excellent communication and client service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a rapid‑paced environment
  • A team‑oriented mindset with a collaborative approach to work
