Your OpportunityOur Vancouver office is looking for an Intermediate Accountant to join the US Tax team. This is for an existing vacancy and the successful candidate will own the following responsibilities:
- Prepares US tax returns for business entities, corporations and partnerships.
- Involved in US tax research for compliance and consulting engagements.
- Communication with the Internal Revenue Service, as well as State tax authorities.
- Collaborating with tax teams across the firm to build relationships and gain specialized expertise for client engagements.
- Engage in training staff and invest in the professional development of your team.
- Build positive working relationships with clients and provide effective support for engagements.
- You will understand the industries BDO services and contribute to the group's advancement.
- You will ensure work is complete, accurate and appropriately reviewed by maintaining the necessary technical knowledge and professional development.
- You will recommend and implement quality or efficiency improvements to our engagements.
- You will actively engage in communication with people leaders to ensure understanding of performance and development.
- You will support our firm's revenue growth by referring clients to other service lines and new clients to BDO.
You are in pursuit of your Canadian or US Tax CPA designation.
- You have two years’ experience in public accounting with exposure to US Tax.
- You are motivated to gain expertise in US Tax.
- You value teamwork, client service, and quality in detailed work.
- You display strong problem solving, analytical, and communication skills.
The expected salary range for this position is $55,000 - $77,000 annually.
