Accounting Manager Job Vancouver area,BC Canada,Accounting

This is a 12-month contract role based in Vancouver. Our client is an established organization looking to add an experienced Accounting Manager to their team. The ideal candidate is a designated CPA with over 4 years of relevant experience.

About the Position
Reporting to the director, the accounting manager will be responsible for but not limited to:

Support the month-end close process to ensure all reporting deadlines are met accurately and on time

Prepare and post journal entries across key areas including accruals, prepaids, payroll, fixed assets, and revenue/expense recognition

Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure all accounts are properly supported and resolved in a timely manner

Investigate and analyze account variances, ensuring clear explanations for unusual or significant fluctuations

Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with ASPE

Collaborate with AP, AR, Payroll, and operational teams to ensure financial records are complete and properly recorded

Maintain fixed asset schedules, including capitalization, disposals, and depreciation tracking

Review key accounting areas such as revenue recognition, intercompany balances, and expense allocations for accuracy and compliance

Support the maintenance and strengthening of internal controls and adherence to accounting policies

Prepare audit schedules and support year-end audit requirements, including responding to auditor requests

Act as a key support to the Director in day-to-day accounting operations and reporting activities

Requirements

Designated CPA

4+ years of progressive accounting experience

Strong experience with full-cycle accounting and month-end close ownership

5 days in office role.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $100,000 to 115,000

3 to 4 weeks vacation
