Position:
D&H Group LLP is seeking an Accounting Technician to join our growing team of professionals. This role is ideal for an organized, detail-oriented individual with experience in accounting who enjoys working with numbers, supporting clients, and contributing to a collaborative team environment.
As an Accounting Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the firm’s accounting and tax services. You will work closely with Managers and Partners to prepare financial information, complete bookkeeping and accounting assignments, assist with personal and corporate tax filings, and support a variety of client engagements.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain accounting records, including general ledgers, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliationsAssist with the preparation of financial statements, working papers, and other accounting reportsPrepare and assist with the preparation of personal T1 income tax returns and corporate T2 income tax returnsPrepare and file GST/HST returns and other applicable government remittancesPrepare payroll calculations and Record of Employment for clients as requiredWork closely with Managers and Partners to support client accounting and tax engagementsCommunicate with clients to obtain required accounting and tax information and resolve accounting-related questionsProvide general administrative and accounting support as assignedCandidate Requirements:
Post-secondary education in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is considered an assetMinimum 2 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or public accounting experience is preferredExperience with accounting and tax software such as Sage 50, Quick Books, Case Ware, Taxprep, or similar platforms is considered an assetExperience with payroll software such as ADP, Dayforce, and Quick Books Payroll is considered an assetStrong understanding of accounting principles, bookkeeping procedures, and basic tax conceptsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to work independently while also contributing effectively to a collaborative team environmentBenefits:
