Our client, a publicly traded organization operating in the natural resources and clean energy sector, is seeking an Intermediate Accountant to join their growing finance team in Vancouver. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to gain exposure to corporate accounting, treasury, financial reporting, and internal controls within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Reporting to the Corporate Accounting Manager, the Intermediate Accountant will play a key role in supporting the month-end close process, financial reporting, treasury functions, compliance initiatives, and various accounting projects.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations as part of the monthly close process.
• Analyze accounting transactions and investigate variances.
• Assist with the preparation of financial reports and supporting schedules.
• Support treasury-related activities, including cash management and reporting.
• Assist with month-end accounting activities for subsidiary entities.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors during quarterly and annual audits.
• Participate in SOX compliance and internal control processes.
• Assist with tax working papers and various regulatory filings.
• Support the preparation of surveys and other non-financial reporting requirements.
• Build strong working relationships across departments and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
• Participate in special projects and other ad hoc accounting duties as required.
