UBC is seeking an Executive Assistant in the Department of Orthopaedics to manage schedules and provide pivotal support in a hybrid work format. This position blends administrative excellence with the coordination of key departmental activities.
As a crucial support figure, you will assist the Department Head and Administrative Manager by managing complex calendars, organizing events, and facilitating high-stakes committee operations.
Your role will directly impact the department's functionality and cultural environment, ensuring efficient collaboration among faculty and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
• Schedule and maintain the Department Head's calendar
• Arrange and coordinate travel and meetings
• Oversee committee processes and documentation needs
• Handle financial processes and reconcile accounts
• Compose and edit correspondence and meeting minutes
Requirements:
• High school completion plus relevant postsecondary diploma
• Four years of administrative experience or equivalent
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and digital communication tools
• Strong detail orientation and problem-solving skills
• Experience in a healthcare or educational institution is an asset
