Job Overview
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced LAA to step into a fast-paced practice to cover a 6-month leave, with the potential to transition into a full-time opportunity for the right candidate..
Responsibilities- Preparing and filing court documents and pleadings
- Managing administrative tasks including scanning, filing and document organization
- Handling client communications and incoming calls
- Opening and maintaining legal files
- Scheduling court appearances, discoveries, mediations and meetings
- Coordinating with opposing counsel and external parties
- Conducting searches (Court Services Online, BC Online, Land Title Office)
- Assisting with trial preparation and assembling court materials
- Tracking and managing meetings and deadlines
- Graduate of an accredited Legal Administration Program
- Prior experience as a Litigation LAA, ideally within BC courts
- Knowledge of court procedures, rules and forms
- Ability to adapt, problem-solve and manage multiple priorities in a busy environment
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities (written and verbal)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe PDF, Zoom/MS Teams
- Experience with Soluno, Net Documents, or similar systems is an asset
