Overview
Novacom Building Partners is a General Contractor based in Surrey, BC. We value people, relationships, innovation and culture. Our core business is commercial construction of financial institutions, restaurants, offices and retail spaces. We are looking for an experienced Site Superintendent to join our growing team, responsible for the management of commercial projects with values up to $1M - $15 Million in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland.
Qualifications- 5-10 years' experience in the commercial construction field, preferably in a Site Superintendent capacity
- Construction knowledge - overall understanding of construction process, sequencing, etc
- Driven - self-motivated and driven to push things forward
- Energetic - engaged personality that tackles complex challenges
- Independent - communicates effectively with the team and can act authoritatively on your own
- Honest - willing to admit mistakes and take ownership
- Administrative - ability to track budgets, change orders, field reports, weekly progress reports, etc.
- Personable - able to build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and clients
- Communicator - proactive with subtrades and team, strong verbal and written communication skills
- Organizer - meticulous in site organization
- Mobile - willing to travel and be flexible in work locations
- Job Site Coordination – manage day-to-day activities on site and ensure the project runs smoothly from start to finish
- Subtrade/Supplier Management – manage construction subtrades and suppliers on the job site and address issues that arise
- Project Management Interface – work with the Project Management team to deliver a high-quality finished product while managing schedule and budget
- Client Interface – meet with architects, consultants, and clients to manage project issues and maintain positive relationships
- Project Documentation – use Microsoft and other web-based software to manage labour, materials, equipment, cost coding, expense submittals, field reports, schedules, meeting minutes, change requests, etc.
- Budget Management – monitor and manage project budget, minimize project costs through inventive methods and provide regular financial reporting
- Competitive Pay - typical range $95K-$125K
