Project Coordinator - Vancouver (Permanent, Junior-Mid Level)
Construction - Major Transit Operations & Maintenance Facility
EWI are supporting a Tier 1 Contractor who are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Project Coordinator to support a major Operations & Maintenance Facility expansion project for a regional transit authority in Vancouver. This is a permanent position suited to someone early in their construction career who is eager to develop within a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary environment.
You will work closely with project managers, engineers, site teams, and commercial staff to help deliver a large, complex civil and structural works package involving buildings, yard infrastructure, utilities, and support facilities for a growing transportation network.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Support & Coordination
- Assist project managers with day‑to‑day coordination, planning, and documentation.
- Track project progress, milestones, RFIs, submittals, and deliverables.
- Prepare meeting minutes, progress reports, and action logs.
- Maintain accurate project records, drawings, and documentation control.
Site & Construction Support
- Support site teams with coordination between trades, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Assist in ensuring work is completed according to design, quality requirements, and schedule.
- Help monitor site activities, safety compliance, and construction sequencing.
Commercial & Procurement Assistance
- Assist in preparing purchase orders, procurement schedules, and subcontract documentation.
- Coordinate material orders, deliveries, and supplier communications.
- Support cost tracking, quantity take‑offs, and change documentation.
Stakeholder & Interface Coordination
- Liaise with internal teams, designers, and external stakeholders to support smooth project delivery.
- Help coordinate technical information, drawing updates, and design queries between the office and site teams.
Required:
- 1-3 years of experience in construction, civil engineering, infrastructure, or a related field.
- Post‑secondary education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, or equivalent.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Good communication skills and confidence working with both site and office teams.
- Proficiency with MS Office; exposure to construction software (e.g., Bluebeam, Procore, Primavera, or similar) is an asset.
Nice to Have:
- Experience supporting civil, structural, building, or infrastructure projects.
- Interest in large‑scale public transit or transportation‑related construction.
- Familiarity with drawings, specifications, and construction documentation.
