About the role:Fossil Landscape Construction is seeking a highly motivated and experienced construction professional to lead our estimating and drive in new business development.
This role is responsible for reviewing drawings, assessing project requirements, performing takeoffs, estimating various construction tasks and preparing proposals for residential landscaping projects.
This individual will also contribute to sales and business development efforts of the company. This includes proactively seeking new project opportunities in the marketplace and expanding industry relationships. An emphasis given to candidates who have proven sales experience and existing relationships with custom home builders, as well as architects and landscape designers.
Responsibilities:- Analyze landscape plans, drawings, specifications and other project documents to accurately determine overall project scope and requirements.
- Attend design meetings and site visits to gather additional project information.
- Complete quantity take-offs from plans.
- Develop accurate and detailed cost estimates of labour materials, equipment and other expenses.
- Communicate with vendors, subcontractors and team members to obtain necessary information to complete estimates.
- Coordinate with the project management team to ensure that proposals are prepared in a timely and accurate manner.
- Proactively identify and pursue potential new projects contacting key stakeholders and developing a plan to secure work
- Leverage existing relationships and develop new contacts to build lasting partnerships with sources of business.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in landscape construction estimating, preconstruction or project management.
- Minimum of 3 years of field experience in landscape construction.
- Proven track record in sales, including relationship management
- Strong knowledge of landscaping and construction practices, materials, and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret landscape plans, drawings, and construction specifications.
- Proficient in computer software applications including estimating and project management software.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Keen attention to detail and operates with a sense of urgency and accountability.
