Duties & Responsibilities- Act as the first point of contact for safety issues on site; support supervisors and crews in resolving H&S concerns in real time.
- Ensure full use of digital safety systems (e.g., Site Docs); verify forms, inspections, and data are accurate and submitted.
- Assist with ensuring the business units adhere to safety procedures, legislation, and internal policies.
- Conduct regular site inspections and hazard assessments; support with corrective actions and follow‑up.
- Support the H&S Lead and site teams with incident investigations, documentation, and implementation of lessons learned.
- Support toolbox talks, onboarding sessions, and in‑field training activities as directed by the H&S Lead.
- Assist with gathering, organizing, and submitting safety metrics and data for reporting to leadership.
- Actively participate in Joint Health & Safety Committee activities and promote safety awareness among field crews.
- Develop and enhance Job Hazard Analysis and Safe Work Practices based on how the activity is performed.
- Assist with the Return‑to‑Work Program.
- Assist with internal/external HSE audits.
- Interact with client HSE reps and ensure compliance with client requirements.
- 5+ years of hands‑on health and safety experience in construction, utilities, or industrial environments.
- NCSO or working towards obtaining certification.
- Working knowledge of OH&S regulations and legislation applicable to BC and/or Canada.
- Experience using digital safety management systems (e.g., Site Docs) is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal skills – able to coach, influence, and collaborate with field crews and supervisors.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions and visiting multiple project sites.
- Strong attention to detail, organized, and committed to documentation and follow‑up.
- Valid and clean BC Driver’s License.
The role is a permanent, full‑time position with a typical starting salary range of $75,000 to $94,400 per annum. Variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
