As we continue to grow as a company, we are looking for a dynamic professional to join our Construction team in the role of Project Manager.
Position SummaryThe Project Manager, Construction is responsible for leading residential and commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role oversees planning, coordination, subcontractor management, client communication, scheduling, cost control, and field execution across multiple projects or one large-scale project.
The ideal candidate brings at least 5 years of construction project management experience with a strong background in both residential and commercial construction. They are a proactive leader who can manage competing priorities, solve problems quickly, build strong relationships with clients and trade partners, and drive successful project outcomes in dynamic jobsite environments.
Core Duties & ResponsibilitiesGeneral
- Manage in-house execution of woodframe townhouse and apartment projects and select concrete apartment and mixed-use projects, ensuring quality construction standards and techniques;
- Follow departmental processes to ensure successful delivery of projects, throughout preconstruction, tendering, construction and occupancy/warranty phases, and to fulfill Alabaster Construction’s contractual obligation to the assigned project;
- Execute cost estimating exercises by completing take-offs and utilizing third party cost consultant and developing an in-house knowledge base;
- Recommend, review, and manage to the proforma construction hard costs on all in-house construction projects;
- Ensure the successful tendering of in-house projects to obtain industry-leading pricing, and to meet the financing minimum requirements. Lead negotiation of terms and ensure proper drafting of agreements and record-keeping;
- Develop and manage relationships with sub-trades and suppliers on behalf of Alabaster Construction;
- If required on an Owner’s Representative basis: evaluate, recommend and manage general contractors for projects outside the scope of Alabaster Construction’s in-house team, including concrete buildings and commercial projects, and for services such as preconstruction consultation and cost estimation;
- Provide oversight and regular management reporting on construction budgets and schedules for all projects;
- Support development team with input on design and material specification of projects;
- Provide timely and accurate estimates and recommendations of costs and schedule at various project stages; and
- Mentor, manage, and guide junior and new team members to Alabaster Construction’s standards with industry wide best practice operating procedures.
Other duties, tasks and responsibilities that may be assigned and required in accordance with the needs of the business.
Who You AreThe ideal candidate is an organized, results-driven construction professional with proven experience managing projects across residential and commercial sectors. They are comfortable operating in both office and field settings and have a strong understanding of construction methods, scheduling, budgeting, contracts, and stakeholder coordination.
They demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to keep projects moving forward while maintaining safety, quality, and client satisfaction. They are equally effective managing subcontractors, collaborating with internal teams, and providing clear updates to owners, consultants, and senior leadership.
In addition to these qualities, you possess:
