Copcan Civil is a leader in civil contracting, construction management, environmental contracting, forestry, demolition, and aggregate sales across British Columbia. Our expertise spans a wide range of services, ensuring we can meet the diverse needs of our clients.

We are seeking an Estimator to join our Copcan team on Vancouver Island (Victoria or Nanaimo).

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate costs estimates and complete tender package submissions for new projects
  • Prepare written proposals for RFP tender opportunities
  • Work with our lead estimator to analyze project management trends and forecast crew production rates
  • Attend estimating team meetings
  • Draft project schedules for tender submissions and to assist project planning
  • Attend pre-construction meetings and project handover meetings to communicate the bid plan to the project managers
Qualifications & Skills
  • Over 3 years of experience in civil construction estimating
  • Graduate of a recognized post-secondary program related to civil engineering or construction management is an asset
  • Experience using estimating software is an asset
  • Able to work in a fast-paced construction environment
  • Strong organization and communication skills, with the ability to multitask
  • Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Flexibility to work extended hours when required
  • Experience using Microsoft Office programs, most notably Word, Excel & Project.
  • Valid BC driver's license
Compensation

The role is a permanent, full-time position based out of South Vancouver Island (Victoria or Nanaimo) with a typical starting salary range of $100,000 to $130,000 per annum. Variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate's qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
