Aecon is hiring for a preconstruction and bid-development role focused on large-scale civil infrastructure projects. The opportunity is suited to experienced Field Engineers or Project Coordinators seeking to develop estimating skills, with the possibility of moving into project operations after an award.

• Assist with bid preparation and develop tender costs for labour, equipment, materials, rentals, and subcontractors.
• Perform quantity takeoffs, update estimating software, solicit subcontractor and vendor quotes, and compare quotations.
• Review drawings, specifications, proposals, and addenda to prepare pricing.
• Support construction means-and-methods planning and the design-build process.
• Coordinate with operations staff, design teams, clients, consultants, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Support prequalification submissions, RFQs, RFIs, and post-bid and post-project analysis.
• Help ensure tender submissions are accurate and estimating processes comply with company procedures and risk policies.

• Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Three to five years of experience as a Field Engineer or Project Coordinator, ideally in project engineering or heavy civil construction.
• Knowledge of construction equipment, techniques, drawings, specifications, materials, and applicable standards.
• Proficiency with construction-industry software; experience with Primavera, AutoCAD, or SAP is noted.
• Valid British Columbia driver's licence and flexibility to work in field and office environments.

Expected pay range: $72,000–$90,000 per year. Individual pay depends on factors including location, education, experience, skills, and job conditions.
