Work Hours: Seasonal, Full-time + Part-time roles available. Shifts starting as early as 8:00am and ending as late as 7:00pm.
Location: Downtown Vancouver
Wages: $17.85/hour + commission =
Average Earnings of $28.14/hour
As a Street Sales Specialist, your main responsibility is to engage with visitors, promote and sell Hop-On Hop-Off tours, sightseeing tours and attractions, and provide helpful information about things to do in Vancouver. You will work outdoors at various locations, confidently approaching guests, driving sales through strong communication, and creating a positive first impression of our company. This role requires enthusiasm, a sales-driven mindset, excellent guest interaction skills, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions for extended periods.
YOURWORK WILL INCLUDE
- Selling and booking our Hop-On Hop-Off tour, guided sightseeing tours + attractions through a handheld point of sale (POS) system
- Proactively initiating sales by approaching guests, asking open-ended questions, and recommending experiences to maximize sales opportunities
- Being sales driven and guest focused, working to meet and exceed sales targets and guest expectations.
- Delivering outstanding guest service and creating meaningful connections to enhance the guest experience
- Welcoming and assisting cruise ship passengers at street level as they arrive in Vancouver
- Assisting with boarding and unloading guests from the bus at Canada Place and Gastown
- Working closely with the Hop drivers and Operations team to ensure smooth guest experiences
- Efficiently scanning Hop-On Hop-Off tickets and processing voucher redemptions both on the street and onboard the bus.
- Organizing and managing guest lineups during peak times to maintain smooth operations
- Professionally addressing guest complaints or concerns, escalating to Supervisor when necessary
- Keeping up to date with operational updates and communicating relevant information amongst team members
- You are sales driven and guest focused, with a passion for delivering exceptional guest service
- You have previous experience working in a sales and guest service environment, ideally in sightseeing or tourism.
- You are a quick learner with a professional and positive attitude.
- You have strong knowledge of Downtown Vancouver and surrounding areas, including key attractions and experiences.
- You enjoy working outdoors for extended periods in all weather.
- You have familiarity with POS systems. Proficiency with credit card is an asset.
- You are flexible and adaptable, available to work any day of the week including weekends and holidays.
- You work well both independently with minimum direction, and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- You are fluent in English, written and oral. Ability to speak a second language is a bonus.
