Job Description
What is the opportunity? RBC PH&N Investment Counsel ("RBC PH&N IC") is one of Canada’s leading boutique investment counselling firms with investment professionals nationwide acting exclusively for high-net-worth clients and small business owners. We provide clients with discretionary investment management and privileged access to the expertise of our RBC Wealth Management Services team which includes highly accredited lawyers, accountants, and financial planning specialists.
As part of a dynamic team, you will be responsible for assisting the Investment Counsellor and other members of the team in providing daily portfolio maintenance, administration, and superior service to RBC PH&N Investment Counsel high-net-worth clients. In addition, you will help with receptionist duties to ensure clients are greeted and received for appointments.
What will you do?
Private Client Associate duties:
- Identify, investigate, and resolve all client inquiries, administrative errors, etc.
- Be a key support to the administrative activities and responsibilities of the team
- Ensure trades are processed accurately and on a timely basis
- Manage all aspects of account opening and documentation and maintain client cash flows and balances
- Maintain records and files and attend client meetings as required.
- Proactively assist with client management of appointments and scheduled meetings / calls
- Stay current with all RBC Policies & Procedures
- Assist other team members and continue to strengthen cross-business working relationships.
Receptionist duties:
- Ensure all clients and staff are attended to in a highly professional, efficient and courteous manner.
- Become one of the main points of contact for day-to-day technology and premises troubleshooting.
- Liaise with appropriate functional departments to minimize client and staff disruption
- Help manage incoming communications from clients, Investment Counsellors and other internal and external partners
- Contribute to team by assisting with coordinating any staff functions
- Complete expense reports for Counsellors and order courier supplies, maintain access card log list for audit purposes, order marketing material for the office
- Various other duties and projects as assigned by the Manager, Practice Enablement
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role in the Investment Industry
- Prior receptionist experience in a professional and high profile office environment
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Be able to work under high pressure
- Exceptional communication verbal and written communication skills
Nice to Have
- CSC
- University Degree

The expected salary range for the above position is $46,000 - 65,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs. This position may be eligible to receive a discretionary/variable incentive payment.
