In the role of Healthcare Planner 2, we’ll count on you to contribute to the planning and design of healthcare facilities as part of an integrated architectural team. This position is intended for an architectural professional with developing healthcare experience who can work with increasing independence, supporting the translation of clinical and operational needs into clear, buildable architectural planning solutions.
In this role, you will:
Provide planning, design, and coordination support on healthcare projects of varying scale and complexity.Prepare and develop architectural drawings, diagrams, test fits, and space plans using CAD and BIM tools.Translate user group input and clinical requirements into architectural layouts under the guidance of senior planners.Apply functional planning principles to architectural layouts; familiarity with functional programming is considered an asset.Participate in and support user group meetings and planning workshops, leading portions as appropriate.Coordinate planning information with architectural, engineering, and project management disciplines.Research and apply applicable Canadian healthcare facility guidelines, standards, and best practices.Assist with the preparation of reports, presentation materials, and planning documentation.Perform other duties as required.Preferred QualificationsMaster’s Degree in ArchitectureA minimum of 6 years experience in healthcare A/E industry, with 3 years as a health plannerAbility to independently develop architectural test fits and space plansProficiency with BIM software such as RevitExcellent communication, leadership, and facilitation skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilitiesFamiliarity with Canadian healthcare facility standards, including CSA Z8000, and building codesExperience participating in user group meetings or stakeholder engagement sessionsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Architecture or closely related fieldA minimum of 3 years experience in A/E industryStrong organizational skillsUnderstanding of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, prints, drawings and modelsDetail-oriented, self-motivated, and flexibleKnowledge of materials, methods and tools involved in the construction of buildingsAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustWhat We Believe
