OverviewAn Intermediate Interior Designer is needed for a 100% Canadian-owned design consultancy based in Vancouver, BC. The role involves creating functional and inviting workplace environments for clients across North America. This is an in-office position, requiring the candidate to be located in Vancouver. The company fosters a positive and collaborative work culture.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with clients to understand their workspace needs, design preferences, and functional requirements.
- Develop creative design solutions that align with client objectives and reflect current workplace trends.
- Use AutoCAD and other design software to create detailed floor plans, furniture layouts, and 3D visualizations.
- Specify and select office furniture, finishes, materials, and accessories based on client needs.
- Prepare and present design concepts, mood boards, and presentations, incorporating client feedback to refine designs.
- Coordinate with internal teams, including sales, project management, and installation, to ensure smooth project execution.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new products, and emerging technologies in workplace design.
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Interior Design or a related field.
- 3-6 years of experience in interior design, preferably in commercial or workplace settings.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and other design software.
- Experience with 2020 or CET software is preferred.
- Strong skills in space planning, furniture specification, and finish selection.
- Solid understanding of workplace design principles, ergonomics, and industry standards.
- Ability to produce accurate technical drawings, floor plans, and 3D visualizations.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and a passion for creating functional, aesthetically pleasing spaces.
