An opportunity for a registered architect with a strong project management background to help lead a diverse range of projects—and play an active part in the firm’s expansion as an Associate.
We are seeking experienced Architects with a strong project management background to join our team and help lead a diverse range of projects. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled architect to contribute to a variety of inspiring projects within a supportive, collaborative environment.
This position is ideal for architects motivated to grow into a leadership role and play an active part in the firm’s expansion as an Associate.
Qualifications- 10+ years of experience in Canada
- Registration with the AIBC as Registered Architect (AIBC)
- Manage various projects in an integrated Architecture and Interior Design environment
- Participate in design, working with other designers
- Manage preparation of Building Permit drawings and documents, submittals, and liaise with Authorities Having Jurisdiction
- Perform Building Code and Zoning Bylaw reviews
- Coordinate consultants and perform coordination reviews of all disciplines involved in the project
- Manage the preparation of Tender and Construction Drawings, Specifications, and Documents
- Manage projects through Tender and Construction Contract Administration phases
- Support training of architects, interns, and designers
- Act as Architect of Record (AOR) / Coordinating Registered Professional (CRP)
- Advanced experience in technical aspects of architectural projects on Tenant Improvement
- Interest and experience working on interior projects and collaborating with interior designers
- Experience in preparation of specifications
- Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD
- Thorough understanding of the BC Building Code, Vancouver Building Bylaw, and municipal Zoning Bylaws
- Extensive experience in the Construction Contract Administration phase and performing Field Reviews
- Extensive experience understanding and coordinating engineering drawings
- Able to work under pressure on multiple projects and manage competing deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
