Architect / Sr. Architect
Our client is seeking an experienced Architectural Technologist to join a well-established and collaborative team working on high-end custom residential, multi-family, new construction, and renovation projects throughout the Greater Vancouver area.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys the technical side of architecture and understands how design translates into construction. The successful candidate will bring strong experience in architectural drafting, construction documentation, building science, materials, building assemblies, and municipal permitting.
You will work closely with architectural/design professionals, construction teams, consultants, trades, and municipal authorities to produce accurate, code-compliant, and constructible project documentation.
Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare detailed architectural and interior working drawings
, including floor plans, sections, elevations, millwork, tile layouts, and construction details.
Prepare and coordinate Development Permit (DP) and Building Permit (BP) packages
.
Develop technical details for wall, floor, roof, foundation, window, door, and interior assemblies
.
Produce drawings and models using Revit, AutoCAD, and 3D visualization software
.
Review designs for BC Building Code, zoning, fire/life safety, accessibility, energy, and municipal requirements
.
Apply strong knowledge of building science, materials, construction methods, building envelope, and constructability
.
Coordinate architectural documentation with structural, mechanical, electrical, landscape, and other consultants.
Research materials, products, and technical solutions and understand how design or material changes affect construction.
Respond to permit and construction feedback and update drawings accordingly.
Support construction through RFIs, shop drawings, submittals, site conditions, field reviews, and design changes

Conduct site measurements and site visits as required.
Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, trades, and municipal officials throughout project delivery.
Maintain organized and accurate plans, specifications, revisions, and project documentation.
What We're Looking ForThe ideal candidate will have 3+ years of Architectural Technologist or closely related experience
, preferably within British Columbia, along with a diploma or degree in Architectural Technology, Building Technology, Architecture, or a related discipline.
Strong knowledge of BC Building Code, particularly Part 9 residential construction
, building envelope principles, construction detailing, materials, and municipal permitting is highly valued.
Candidates should also bring strong proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit
, experience preparing DP/BP and construction packages, and the ability to coordinate effectively with consultants and construction teams.
City of Vancouver permitting experience is a significant asset
, particularly experience preparing DP/BP packages and responding to City comments and resubmissions. Previous experience with custom homes or high-end residential construction is also highly desirable.
