The Program Facilitator supports JCC programming, specifically, this position facilitates “Growing Together”, a pilot program of the Inclusion department in which youth and teens with diverse needs and abilities come together in a community garden to socialize, learn life skills, and experience hands-on activities in a safe, relaxed and fun environment. The role includes planning sessions, facilitating twice-monthly sessions with participants, prepping and cleaning the garden area, and liaising with the Program Coordinator responsible for the Inclusion portfolio.

: 4 hours every 2 weeks on Sunday 1pm - 4pm.

Compensation
: $22 - 28 per hour depending on experience.

Key Areas of Responsibility
:
The Program Facilitator (Growing Together) leads the twice-monthly community gardening program.

This includes:
- Planning sessions.
- Identifying and occasionally ordering supplies / materials.
- Prepping the program/garden area.
- Facilitating the Program with participants.
- Ensuring clean up of the garden.
- Communicating with the Program Coordinator, Inclusion.
- Communicating with program participants and/or their families/guardians as needed.

Qualifications
:
BA., certification and/or equivalent experience working with individuals with special needs.
Knowledge and experience facilitating gardening classes.
Experience working with youth/teens with disabilities, knowledge of inclusive practices, and familiarity with the local community are assets.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with the Jewish community and cultural practices is an asset.
Successful candidates must clear a Criminal Record Check for working with vulnerable persons.
