Job DescriptionSt. Jude Elementary, a vibrant and welcoming Catholic elementary school community in East Vancouver, is seeking a dedicated and passionate Primary Educational Assistant to fill a short-term, full-time position from January to June 2026 with the possibility of extension. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education, a commitment to working with neurodiverse children, and a passion for helping students succeed.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the classroom teacher and Learning Resource Teacher.
- Provide classroom support to students with varying levels of need both one-on-one and in small groups.
- Supervise and support students during independent work and group activities.
- Help implement individualized education plans for students.
- Track learning goals related to the individualized education plan.
- Participate in grade-level meetings with the classroom teacher and Learning Resource Teacher.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities as required.
- Interact professionally and discretely with students, parents, and other staff.
- Certification in education or related field is preferred.
- Experience working with children with neurodiverse abilities is preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work as a team member and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
- Practicing Catholic applicants are preferred.
