Crofton House School is seeking an exceptional early childhood educator to work with teachers in our Junior Kindergarten program. You will be part of a collaborative teaching team supporting the positive growth and development of young girls in the Crofton House School Early Childhood Education Centre. Our play-based approach to teaching and learning is guided and enhanced by the principles of a student-centred, collaborative and inquiry-based focus to deepen learning for young students.
Hours:
8:30-4:30 pm daily
Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively as part of a dynamic team of early childhood educators
Teach the Junior Kindergarten program in a team-based approach
Create the meaningful integration of a play based curriculum
Plan and implement dynamic and interactive lessons
Support ECE students in a variety of activities that support a play-based approach to learning
Seek opportunities to embrace the outdoors to support student learning
Support students in daily physical education
Enhance the experience of diverse learners
Support student learning with small group and individual instruction
Assist students during non-instruction times (transitions, lunchtime, outdoor play)
Gather documentation and assessment of young learners
Establish a strong parent partnership
Support our after-school care program
Participate in an extensive co-curricular program, as needed
Collaborate with a team of dedicated professionals who embrace school values of courage, creativity, and citizenship
Qualifications:
Early Childhood Educator Diploma or degree
Demonstrated experience as an early childhood educator
Deep understanding of the power of play to support the growth of young learners
Experience using the outdoors as a meaningful environment for learning
Proven ability to work collaboratively
Capacity to be creative, flexible, and patient
Strong communication skills
Dedicated attention to the care and safety of young children
Commitment to the integration of school routines and learning in a childcare setting
Highly organised with attention to detail
