** Job Summary
** The Student Engagement Coordinator is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of programs that contribute to a positive living and learning environment for undergraduate students in the Faculty of Arts at the University of British Columbia. This role is instrumental in the delivery of programs and services in support of a culture of learning, leadership, involvement and service for all students in the Faculty of Arts  Student Engagement Coordinator reports to the Arts Student Engagement Officer, working both independently and in strong collaboration with staff in the Work Integrated Education and Student Engagement team, and the Centre for Student Development and Leadership to support teams of student staff and volunteers.

** Organizational Status
** The Student Engagement Coordinator reports to the Student Engagement Officer. The incumbent is a member of the Work Integrated Education and Student Engagement team within the portfolio of the Associate Dean, Students, in the Faculty of Arts. Arts Student Engagement enhances the experience of undergraduate Arts students through timely developmental supports and resources to encourage critical thought and learning on their journey in, through, and out of their degree.

The incumbent works independently with direction from the Arts Student Engagement Officer; the work of the unit is done with oversight from the Executive Director, Work Integrated Education and Student Engagement with support from the Associate Dean Students for the Faculty of Arts.

The incumbent will work in collaboration with Arts student service departments (such as Arts Academic Advising, Arts Co-op, and the Arts Dean’s Office Academic units and programs across the faculty, as well as student organizations and staff at the Centre for Student Development and Leadership. The position will help to supervise and train student staff and volunteers.

** Work Performed
** The incumbent works cooperatively with other staff, students, and faculty to ensure that common goals for the unit and the Faculty of Arts are achieved.

Responsibilities include:

Coordinate and implement existing programs within the Compass Student Engagement Hub designed to bridge students’ curricular and co-curricular experiences. The position may also help to deliver programs developed in collaboration with Faculty of Arts departments and academic programs, UBC Orientations, Arts Peer Academic Coaches, the Arts Undergraduate Society, strategic career initiatives, and may include others developed in collaboration with other student engagement colleagues on campus.
