Position: STEM Instruction Specialist at Pear Tree School
Become an Instruction Specialist for STEM at Pear Tree School, with a start date in August 2026. This full-time teaching role emphasizes hands-on learning across Grades 6–9.

As a STEM Instruction Specialist, you’ll be empowered to deliver engaging and inquiry-based learning experiences at Pear Tree School. This position requires leading a homeroom for Grade 6/7 or 8/9 while integrating critical STEM concepts through the BC Mathematics curriculum. You'll play a crucial part in developing students' problem-solving skills and promoting their academic inquiry in a supportive classroom culture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement the Pear Tree Method in STEM education

• Develop strong student understanding of BC Mathematics

• Facilitate hands-on science investigations and experiments

• Adapt assessments to reflect clear learning evidence

• Cultivate a positive classroom culture and engaged routines

Requirements:

• M.Ed. or equivalent educational qualifications

• Valid BC Teacher Certification or eligibility required

• Three or more years of middle years teaching beneficial

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Familiarity with inquiry-based and progressive education
